While watching Guardians of the Galaxy in class (great movie btw) there are several effects and songs that make the whole movie 10000000x better (including Chris Pratt's acting, because cmon he's the man). As far as musical effects and songs throughout the movie I thought the producers did a stellar job with not only song choices/effects but as well as the timing. I think the beginning of the movie is my favorite part when Starlord is singing (I don't remember the song) but he's going through this old underground place and he then picks up a rat using it as his microphone. Aside from that though all throughout the movie the producers did a great job of playing the right songs at the right time but especially at the end with the dance battle and the end scene, the way they incorporated music into the movie and had it affect the plot is just awesome.
I also thought that the visual effects made most of the best parts in the movie as good as they were. Every battle scene was played out very well and the timing and visual effects they used made it look like they made it this year. I can only imagine how long it truly took them to master the effects used throughout the movie and have them flow with the plot so greatly. Especially towards the end with the big scenes and fighting the way they showed the effects was brilliant. My favorite part was when Starlord grabbed the orb and the effect of his face dissolving and him being in a galaxy like environment made it so realistic. But there were great visual effects every minute of the movie.

In my opinion, the technology that has changed the most over time and the past decade or so is easily the cell phone. The cell phone (which we now refer to as smartphones since they exist) have come a VERY long way. Before touch devices there were flip-phones (a couple of kinds). There were phones that slid-out/flipped into a keyboard to text as well as phones with a small screen and camera on the front but you could flip it open to the numbers and letters associated with the numbers. But since 2007 phones and how we use them/what we use them for has drastically changed. When the first touch device came out it was a huge advancement for technology, let alone for phones. But every year since then there have been new developments/advancements to smart phones to make them what they are today. In 2007 when first touch phones came out (which Apple DID NOT create first btw...look it up) phones only had some apps that were essentials such as phone, messaging, contacts, calendar, and some had the internet...but that was it. There was nothing else you could do with your phone besides use the apps, but fast forward to today where there are 1 million+ apps in the Google Play store you can download as well as 2+ million in the Apple app store. There is a literally an app for everything today (just like the saying goes) and the capabilities of a smart phone are endless and up to the user. Whether its downloading Snapchat to snap people, getting apps to get free movies and music, apps to cast your phone screen to a tv, like I said the possibilities are endless today. So all in all as you can see the phone has changed a lot to what it is now and technology is really all you make of it today with how crazy it has advanced.
Over the weekend I found myself at the movie theaters to see Mark Wahlberg star in the movie Patriots Day. I don't go to the movies very often but when I saw previews for Patriots Day on TV and watched the trailer it was very interesting to me and I wanted to see how the movie was portrayed. I am also a big fan of Mark Wahlberg and thought he was really good in the Ted series (Ted and Ted 2). I was very excited to see the movie!!
A while back I watched a documentary on Netflix called The Hunt for the Boston Bombers and it went inside the investigation/attack and the activity that followed the days after and how investigators and police forces went about catching the suspects. It showed a really cool inside look of every step that was taken following the attacks from identifying the suspects to later finding one of the bombers in a guys boat (yeah crazy right?). I am very into a lot of crime shows/documentaries/movies and what goes on behind the scenes so I knew I would love Patriots Day. While watching the movie I thought it was really interesting and insightful how the producers focused on the attack and the suspects but as well as real people involved in the attacks (played by actors), what happened to them, what the mayhem was like after the bombs went off, etc. etc. About a half hour or so through the movie the bombs went off and the rest of the focus was on Mark Wahlberg and his teams to help find the suspects. The intensity of the movie was very high and had me on the edge of my seat the whole time (even though I know a lot about the investigation and the events that took place after the attack) while the special forces were processing the entirety of what happened . The producers and writers did a really good job of making the movie, casting, the emotions all the forces had throughout the whole investigation and many more. This really showed another side of the Boston Marathon attack and it showed a lot more than the Hunt for the Boston Bombers did when I watched it about a year ago. I would highly recommend this movie to many people interested into the behind the scenes of the bombing. But I would also like to remind everyone that it is rated R for a reason and there is LOTS of blood, gore, and startling moments that can be hard for some people to view and may be sensitive to the images and scenes shown after the attack. All in all though I would recommend watching it. I give it a 9/10. |
